BEAT THAT! Samba and Djembe drumming

Updated: Feb 11

Join Laszlo Palko and the percussion team from Dark Peak Concert Band for a series of workshops introducing the fun of Samba and Djembe Drumming.

Traditional African and Brazilian Drumming

The workshops will involve learning to play traditional Brazilian, African and Afro-Brazilian rhythms on authentic Brazilian and African instruments.

African and Brazilian drumming is a lively, energetic and exhilarating experience and a great introduction to the fun of playing percussion.

The follow-up to the workshops will be a percussion play-day in the summer term exploring the full range of percussion including drum-kit, timpani, tuned percussion and host of other western and world-music instruments.

Where and when are the Samba and Djembe Workshops?

Mondays 15th, 22nd & 29th April, 6.30-7.30pm

Victoria Hall, Talbot Street, Glossop SK13 7DQ

The workshops are open to children from age 10 to 15. No previous musical or drumming experience is necessary and all instruments will be provided.

The workshops are completely free to take part.
