Dark Peak Music Turns 25
October of this year marks 25 years since the start of the Dark Peak Music Foundation. Over the years, we have grown from one small ensemble (Glossop Wind Band) into an organisation which stretches across Glossopdale and beyond, offering a wide variety of ensembles and other musical opportunities to over 200 children, young people and (through the Orchestra of the Peaks) adults too.
Throughout this year we have been running a series of events and projects throughout the year to celebrate this milestone. As the culmination of the celebrations we want to mark this special occasion in style, and we really hope you can come along and celebrate with us.
On Sunday, 4th October we will be holding two events at Glossop Cricket Club. Our afternoon event from 15:30 to 17:30 is a celebration for our current members and their families. There will be food and drink, games, music and of course birthday cake! Places are free but limited so please book tickets via this link to join us:
Building on success
Over the years it has been our privilege and pleasure to work with successive generations of brilliant young people and we hope you cherish wonderful memories of your time in Dark Peak. Each generation has stood on the shoulders of their predecessors and we owe the success of Dark Peak to its founding pioneers.
Celebrate with us

We hope this celebration will be a chance to relive great experiences and reconnect with old friends, at the same time as looking forward to the next chapter for Dark Peak. Some of our recent graduates are preparing a video wall showing the story of Dark Peak in images and video. This session is open to alumni, friends and supporters of Dark Peak.
The organisation has grown from small beginnings in 2001 to become one of the most successful and highly regarded music centres in the region. High points have included performing in the Music for Youth Proms at London's Royal Albert Hall, Gold Awards at the National Concert Band Festival and European concert tours including Spain, Italy, Germany, Czech Republic and Belgium.
